Passover is the first of the seven feasts of Judaism commanded to be observed by God in the Old Testament. It goes back to the time of the Exodus, when God struck down the firstĀborn of the Egyptians. God commanded that Passover be observed from that time forward, so that the people of Israel would reĀmember what the LORD had done for them.

Passover is more than just a Jewish feast. We know that Jesus fulfilled the Passover when He was crucified on the cross.  It is a picture of the redeeming work of Christ. The Apostle Paul refers to Christ as “our Passover Lamb” in 1st Corinthians, chapter 5. A lamb was sacrificed to deliver the Jewish people from Egypt; thus, Christ was sacrificed to deliver us from the bondage of sin and connect us back to Father God. But the picture of Christ in the Passover Seder goes beyond the symbolism of the lamb.
