The Freedom Women Life Group led by Sharifa Gomez Jones meets off-campus in Brambleton. Re-connect on September 14. Week one in the book - Sept.21. Books available Sept. 14. Whisper by Mark Batterson. The voice that spoke the cosmos into existence is the same voice that parted the Red Sea, and made the sun stand still in the midday sky. One day, this voice will make all things new, but it’s also speaking to you now! That voice is God’s voice, and what we’ve learned from Scripture is that He often speaks in a whisper. Not to make it difficult to hear Him, but to draw us close. Many people have a tough time believing God still speaks. Sure, in ancient times and in mysterious ways, God spoke to His people, but is He still speaking now? God is actively speaking through: Scripture, Desires, Doors, Dreams, People, Promptings, and Pain. Batterson gives you the tools you need to unlock each of these languages.

Genesis is now INSIGHT. We are called to be salt and light in the world and our world begins with our family, our neighborhood, and our workplace. We take a second look at the main stage teaching on Sundays using a tailored study guide and we apply that teaching to our life as we dive into a dynamic group discussion. Once a month, we carve out social time to get to know one another better as we share our stories and share a meal. Everyone is welcome to try out this multi-generational (team led) group.

A group for young adults meets on Wednesdays. Taryn Hollis facilitates. Ecclesiastes: Life in the Light of Eternity - 10 lessons-discussion questions, a short article and life application. What is a meaningful life? We seek life in success, prosperity, recognition, relationships, and even self-sufficiency, but we always seem to come up short. If you feel you are coming up empty in your life and need a bigger vision and greater purpose, this study will show you that all of your hope for meaning lies in getting to know and trust your Creator. The wisdom in Ecclesiastes will topple your false hopes in temporary comforts and achievements and steer you toward the unshakable hope you have in Jesus. Life is difficult and faith is a constant challenge, but dismantling your time-bound idols will help you look ahead to a hope-filled eternity and will equip you to live generously, wisely, and happily.Contact Beth Davidson - bdavidson@cfcwired.org for more information.

Have you ever gotten to the end of a week, month or year and thought, “How did I get here? Where has the time gone?” It happens in our parenting, friendships, marriage and work- we get caught up in the urgent demands of the day-to-day, and then years go by, and we realize we haven’t been making the small choices that will get us where we actually wanted to be. So, this is the year to make some moves. Say “Yes.” Navigate to the CFC Events page for more information. Contact Beth Davidson with general questions

Weekly - Meets at Silver Diner Restaurant, Reston
Silver Diner Men's Small Group is reading and discussing Twelve Ordinary Men by John McArthur. You don't have to be perfect to do God's work. Look no further than the twelve disciples, whose many weaknesses are forever preserved throughout the pages of the New Testament. Join bestselling author John MacArthur in Twelve Ordinary Men as he draws principles from Christ's careful, hands-on training of the original disciples for today's modern disciple, you! Jesus chose ordinary men--fishermen, tax collectors, political zealots--and turned their weakness into strength, producing greatness from people who were otherwise unremarkable. The twelve disciples weren't the stained-glass saints we imagine. On the contrary, they were truly human, all too prone to mistakes, misstatements, wrong attitudes, lapses of faith, and bitter failure. Simply put, they were flawed people, just like us. But under Jesus' teaching and touch, they became a force that forever changed the world. https://www.amazo

A new study begins on September 16. Portal for Men meets the 1st, 3rd and 4th Saturday a month (Band of Brothers meets the 2nd Saturday). 40 Days Through the Book of Philippians - Embracing Joy by Mark Batterson is a video driven study. Joy is everywhere in the book of Philippians. The emotion that Paul poured out in his letter to the church in Philippi shines through in every one of its 104 verses...and Paul wrote it as a prisoner chained to a Roman guard. What gives the Apostle Paul such resounding joy, even in the face of suffering and persecution? In this six-session study (streaming video included), bestselling author and pastor Mark Batterson serves as a tour guide on the letter to the Philippians; uncovering the major themes of joy, gratitude, unity, and purpose found in this inspiring letter.
