Formerly the bookstore. Enter at door 100. Schedule:Weekly. Contact Pastor Louis Jean. Description:A diverse group of men and women who seek to study God's word each week at a deeper level. Join the group on Fridays to dive into the book of Proverbs. Although the book begins with a title ascribing the proverbs to Solomon, it is clear from later chapters that he was not the only author of the book. Pr 22:17 refers to the “sayings of the wise,” and 24:23 mentions additional “sayings of the wise.” The presence of an introduction in 22:17–21 further indicates that these sections stem from a circle of wise men, not from Solomon himself. Ch. 30 is attributed to Agur son of Jakeh and 31:1–9 to King Lemuel, neither of whom is mentioned elsewhere. Currently in Chapter 20. The Portal Type: MenContact:Roy WunderlichDate/Time:Saturday 8:30AM to 10:00AMLocation:CFC room 206Schedule:Saturday 8:30-10a in room 206 ONWARD by Russell Moore : As the culture changes all around us, it's no longer possible for Christians to pretend that we are a moral majority. That may be bad news for America, but it can be good news for the church. Nominal Christianity isn’t working anymore. What's needed now, is neither a doubling-down on the status quo nor a retreat into isolation. Instead, we need a church that speaks to social and political issues with a bigger vision in mind: the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Christianity seems increasingly strange—and even subversive—to our culture, we have the opportunity to embrace the distinctiveness of the Christian faith.
